    Philadelphia Archery and Gun Club

    • Located in the Italian Market section of South Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Archery and Gun Club has two membership levels. The basic club membership is $150 per year and includes unlimited use of the club's indoor range. The basic membership requires that you purchase ammo from the club, however. A VIP membership is $300 and allows you free gun rentals and the ability to bring your own ammo. You can use the range without a membership for $15 to $25 per day. All rates are as of 2010.

      Philadelphia Archery and Gun Club has basic gun courses, safety lessons, and self-defense courses. It also offers PA Act 235 training for people required to carry a lethal weapon on the job.

    Holmesburg Fish and Game

    • Holmesburg Fish and Game Protective Association was founded in 1930. The club is located in the northeast section of the city. The club has both regular and junior memberships, for people under 18 years old. To join the club, you must also be a member of the National Rifle Association. Member dues are $100 annually, as of 2010. Guests are allowed to use the club's ranges for a fee.

      The club has indoor and outdoor pistol ranges as well as a rifle range and archery. It is the only club in the area that offers trap and skeet shooting. Holmesburg Fish and Game hosts hunters' safety lectures, a youth field day, and open houses, where firearm safety basics are discussed.

    Other Gun and Archery Clubs

    • B&A Archery, also located in the Northeast section of the city, is a club devoted to archery. B&A has two floors. The first floor is for targets at 20 yards, and the second floor is for 30 yards. Outside, there are 3D targets around the perimeter. The range also organizes group trips to different 3Ds on the weekends and hosts an annual Golf Shoot, which is similar to golf except that bows and arrows are used instead of clubs.

      Located outside the city in Doylestown, Bucks County Fish and Game Association is a members-only club. In order to join, you must attend a meeting that is usually held on the fourth Thursday of the month. The Association offers junior memberships for those under 18 years of age. Bucks County Fish and Game Association has indoor and outdoor ranges, as well as archery and trapshooting. If you are not in the mood to practice your hunting skills, you can simply take a walk on the nature trail or try your hand at fishing.
