Enbrel Drug Uses
- In four double-blind clinical studies, Enbrel was effective in reducing joint pain, joint swelling, and inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis. Benefits were noticed within two weeks and full benefits reached at three months.
- Enbrel was effective in reducing join pain, rashes, fever, swollen joints and fatigue in 75 percent of polyarticular (more than five joints affected) juvenile rheumatoid arthritis patients. Benefits were reported within a two- to four-week time frame. This medication is not recommended for children under the age of 2.
- In approximately 50 percent of psoriatic arthritis patients, Enbrel was effective in reducing joint swelling and pain. Enbrel benefits were reported within the first four weeks of treatment and yielded positive results in preventing joint damage.
- In three out of five adults diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, Enbrel relieved symptoms within a two- to eight-week time frame. The most common symptoms of AS include joint pain, joint stiffness, eye inflammation and fatigue.
- Approximately 75 percent of patients diagnosed with severe plaque psoriasis reported a reduction in joint pain and inflammation. Enbrel patients reported noticing benefits within two months.
