How to Make a Twirling Ribbon
- 1). Wrap a 12-inch long wooden dowel with brightly colored duct tape. It is available in many colors, including yellow, pink, blue and green. Alternatively, you can paint the dowel or leave it as it is.
- 2). Place the tip of an eye hook into one end of the dowel and screw it in by hand. If you need help turning it, you can use needle-nose pliers.
- 3). Pry open the eye hook just enough to slide on one end of the swivel eye, then close it again with the pliers.
- 4). Cut a piece of ribbon 120 inches long. If you prefer, you can make the ribbon longer or shorter.
- 5). Sew one end of the ribbon to the free end of the swivel eye using a button thread that matches the ribbon in color.
- 6). Run a lighter over the other end of the ribbon to prevent it from fraying. Don’t hold the ribbon in the fire as this could cause it to burn and become discolored.
