    • 1). Clear the area of loose debris by sweeping the area with your finger and blowing inside of it. Loose particles can compromise the integrity of the filling.

    • 2). Load the calk into the calking gun. Prep the area by rubbing it with rubbing alcohol and a rag. Squeeze the trigger on the caulking gun releasing caulk into the gap, filling it completely. Wipe away any excess caulk that overflows the filling area. Let the calk dry completely according to the caulking directions before running any water around its location.

    • 3). Apply spackling paste to your finger and fill in the gap completely. Use a putty knife to scrape the surface even with its surroundings. Let the putty dry and apply paint to the area that matches the surroundings.
