Construction works are that types of job which include working at height and you face danger every day. Working at height is one of the major causes of workplace injuries. Working at height does not only pertain to working from atop the roof of house or a tall building or in tall infrastructures that are still under construction. Employees who are working in an area where they can fall down a breakable surface, a cavernous opening in the floor or hole in the ground are also considered working at height.

Since there are several injuries occur at work place, hence it is necessary to get proper training about how to use these equipments. A work at height safety course is important to inform, instruct and remind the candidates of the potential danger and harm that could befall anyone at the work site if the proper safety measures were not strictly exercised. This is applicable to all personnel who need to be around the work site. First, know what height you're going to be working at and then identify the hazards. This includes areas where there are unprotected zones, like openings in floors, areas where you'll be working over other hazards, and areas with unguarded excavations. Consider other areas that may feature unstable structures or fragile surfaces. It would also help to be aware of the extent of your work before carrying it out. Injury due to a fall may not only be fatal to the person victim but also to the people below and on the ground. This is because tools, equipment or materials falling from a height may injure the people working below or pedestrians in the vicinity.

Before starting the actual work, make sure that you have an emergency and evacuation plan in place, in case of an accident and other types of emergency situation. All employees working at height must have the correct equipment and gear. The employees should have and always wear the correct personal protective equipment and they should always be using the proper height safety equipment as well at all times. To ensure the safety of your employees, you need to have them regularly undergo new and relevant training courses regarding height safety.
