The 4 R's of green living.
The homeplace is one of the best places to start your journey on green living.
You have total control over the choices you live with.
Water conservation can make a significant impact on local resources.
From the energy it takes to get the water to your home to the energy it takes to heat the water up, any reduction in water use translates into major energy savings.
All water used in the home is processed to the point of being pristine when it gets to the home.
You don't need high quality water for anything other than drinking.
The rest of the uses for water such as, flushing toilets, sprinklering the lawn or washing dishes can come from grey water or water that isn't processed so much.
Like water that would come from a shallow well.
Reducing your waste byproducts by choosing products with recyclable packaging to products that have less packaging can reduce the total waste you dispose of.
Then look at the waste you are throwing away to see if any can be recycled.
You can also practice green living when you go shopping.
Choose foods produced that use the fewest chemicals or even totally organically grown foods.
Buy clothes produced by organically grown or biodegradable materials.
Choose meat and dairy products that were raised humanly rather than in intensively farmed or overcrowded pens and cages.
By introducing green living habits in the home you can get everybody involved, from your spouse to your children.
