How to Make a Winning Trifle
- 1). Prepare the pudding according to the directions on the package. Set aside.
- 2). Cut the cake or brownies into rough cubes, approximately 1 square inch each.
- 3). Whip 1 cup of the whipping cream until it forms stiff peaks at the top and is no longer runny. Fold the whipped cream into the pudding, just until it is mixed.
- 4). Cut the fruit into bite-sized pieces. Put aside.
- 5). Whip the second batch of whipping cream until it forms soft peaks.
- 1). Line the bowl with half of the cut-up cake cubes.
- 2). Layer half of the fruit on top of the cake.
- 3). Cover the cake and fruit layer with half of the pudding mixture.
- 4). Repeat steps one through three with the remaining cake, fruit and pudding mixture.
- 5). Spread the whipped cream on top of the entire dessert.
- 1). Garnish your trifle with a candy bar that you have grated, pieces of fruit, nuts that you have left whole or ground up or whatever topping you prefer.
- 2). Cover the trifle with the trifle bowl lid or plastic wrap if you aren't serving it immediately, to keep it fresh.
- 3). Refrigerate the trifle once it is covered. Keep it chilled until it is ready to be served.
