    • 1). Turn on iTunes on your computer and insert an audio CD into your disc drive. The computer will ask if you want to import to iTunes. Click "Yes" and wait for the import to complete. Depending on your disc drive and computer speed this will take up to half an hour.

    • 2). Plug your iPod charger cable into the bottom of the iPod and a USB port on your computer. If you sync automatically, select "Erase and sync" when a text box pops up. Otherwise, choose "Cancel."

    • 3). Click on the triangle next to your iPod in iTunes, then select "Summary" at the top of the screen. Unless you've already automatically synced, check the option "Manually manage music and videos." If a box pops up, click "OK," and click "Apply" to make the changes.

    • 4). Return to iTunes on your computer by selecting "Music" at the top left menu. Highlight the recently imported CD by selecting the top song, holding down "Shift," and selecting the final song. Now click any song and drag it over to your iPod's icon to release. The CD will load on your iPod.

    • 5). Repeat as many times as necessary to load your CD collection onto your iPod.
