Off the Beaten Path

• If you're looking for attractions that are off the beaten path, you can't go wrong with Fannie Farkle's. This restaurant is known for peppers, onion and sausage subs as well as foot-long corn dogs. You can watch the sandwiches being made, try some of the arcade games and trade in points you win for fun prizes. Ghost Haunts Tour offers a 90-minute look at haunted spots in Gatlinburg. The Guinness World of Records Museum is another good choice. The museum houses unique items like the original Batmobile and has exhibits showing records from the book. There's also Hauntings: A Live Ghost Show, which bills itself as an interactive ghost show where audience participation is welcome.

• If you're looking for something for the whole family to do, try the Fort Fun Family Entertainment Center. The center contains a 2,700-square-foot Laser Tag center, a 3D movie theater, bumper cars, a miniature golf course with black lights and ha a discount plan in which you can visit two days in a row and pay for only one day. Hillbilly Golf is another great family choice. Two 18-hole miniature golf courses are located 300 feet above Gatlinburg, with some challenging holes.

• If you're in the mood for something outdoors, try the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway or Gatlinburg Sky Lift Inc. Each attraction delivers views of the city and the Great Smoky Mountains. Also try Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. Skiing, ice skating, tramway and an alpine slide are just a few of the attractions offered. The ski resort also has a black bear habitat where you can see how the bears live. You might also want to try Off Road Voyages where you can take a trip off-roading in a military-grade Hummer.
