How to Set Up Windows Mobile 6.1 Activesync
- 1). Open the ActiveSync application on your Windows Mobile 6.1 phone. It may be on the home screen or underneath the Start menu, depending on the device.
- 2). Click the "Set up your device to sync with it" link in the ActiveSync welcome window that opens.
- 3). Enter the server address in the appropriate field. The server address is often "mail.company.com" or similar. If you are unsure of the address, contact your system administrator or IT department.
- 4). Check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection" if your server requires SSL. If unsure, contact your Exchange administrator.
- 5). Click "Next."
- 6). Enter your Exchange server username in the "User name" field and your Exchange server password in the appropriate field. Input the name of your Exchange server domain, as well.
- 7). Check the "Save password" box if you want Windows Mobile ActiveSync to store your password. If you do not check the box, you must manually enter the password each time you use ActiveSync, and automatic synchronization is not possible.
- 8). Click "Next" to advance to the next ActiveSync setup page.
- 9). In the Edit Server Settings window, check the boxes next to the types of data you want to sync with the Exchange server. ActiveSync can synchronize the data for your contacts, calendars, email account and tasks stored on an Exchange server.
