Use Your BlackBerry to Convert Between English Measurement Systems and Metric Systems
Sometimes, you have to face measurement systems that are not quite familiar to you as the English measurement system is not very similar to the standard one.
Take the example kilometer/mile.
You need a calculator to convert kilometers to miles, as you have to multiply 1,6 by x (x representing the number of miles).
Fortunately, RIM considered this aspect when upgrading the BlackBerry and you can rapidly convert English metric systems to standard or the other way round.
From your BlackBerry options, you can conveniently make conversions between gallons (gal) and liters (l), Fahrenheit (F) and Celsius (C), pounds (lb) and kilograms (kg), inches (in) and centimeters (cm), feet (ft) and meters (m), miles (mi) and kilometers (km), yards (yd) and meters (m).
In order to quickly find out, for example, the conversion of 300 kilograms to pounds, use the BlackBerry converter.
It simply piece of cake, you won't have to use the Calculator, either.
Just follow these instructions: - select Calculator from the Home screen, press the trackwheel and you will be shown the Calculator menu - select the first digit of the first number, press the "wheel" again, select the remaining digits, repeat pressing the "wheel" - the first number appears on the Calculator screen (300, in our case), and press the trackwheel again - select From metric from the menu, press the "wheel", then select kg - lb from the menu, press the trackwheel again and you are already shown the result of the conversion.
