How to Find Out If You Have a Retirement Account in the State of Wisconsin

    • 1). Visit the "Search for Unclaimed Property" Web page of the Wisconsin State Treasurer.

    • 2). Search for your name to see if any unclaimed property of yours is included in the system.

    • 3). Click the property ID number if your retirement account or any other property shows up under your name. Fill in and submit the online form to begin the process of reclaiming the property.

    • 4). Visit the search page of the Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) website (see References) if your missing retirement account is a pension fund. Enter your surname and select "Wisconsin" as the state to search for a missing pension. Call PBGC at 1-800-326-LOST if your name is on the list in order to reclaim your pension funds.
