and how to apply it baseball till recent years.
Every baseball player realizes the importance of having good timing in playing baseball but they don't have a clue about how the actual mechanics works.
Timing is the internal communication that happens between the mind and body.
The days where this internal communication works properly, then you will experience a good level of play.
But the day it breaks down then you will experience some or even all of the following problems...
frustrations...
and/or concerns: -You will miss easy shot, movements and/ or plays without knowing why...
-You won't be at the right place and at the right time...
-Your judgment will be off...
-Your mind will know exactly what you should have done but your body will not be able to respond properly to the commands of your mind.
-You will execute your movements too soon...
-You will execute your movements too late...
-You will freeze up in your movements and techniques...
I could list 60 things that could happen when your timing is OFF.
Usually the elite athletes have a natural ability to control their timing for them to achieve and maintain a consistent performance but it will breakdown within time and they just won't know how to solve this timing problem.
