American Idol 2010 - Where is the Talent?
So, You Want to Win on American Idol 2010 American Idol 2010, so far, is looking really disappointing.
It begs the question...
Is this really a sampling of the brightest and best that America has to offer? It simply can't be.
I hear better solo singers at church! No doubt there's some raw talent here.
But, what is it going to take to grow these kids up fast enough.
Paige Miles likes to color in coloring books and Katie Stevens studies kissing phrases in every language.
Compare those pastimes with Lilly Scott who plays several instruments and has a musical tattoo on her arm.
Who has the passion? Who spends enough time immersing herself in music? That's the key to passing through the proverbial door into the collective unconscious where raw, fresh talent flows like water.
Sometimes it's easier for the really young artists to nail it.
They get their passion early.
Shaheen Jafargholi owns it consistently and sings every chance he gets.
I got those shivers the first time I heard Shaheen's audition.
This is why Katie can't even name a young artist or song she likes.
She can sing, but doesn't actively define herself by listening to other well-defined artists.
The result...
all over the map.
She doesn't dazzle us.
She agitates.
Putting all of the judgment aside, I'll get back to the question.
How can these singers raise the bar for themselves before it's too late? There can be only one winner at the end of the American Idol 2010 season.
But, there can be several careers made in the meantime.
If these kids were my patients or clients, I would purge core fears (fundamental unconscious lies) from their young psyches.
I do it with my patients to unleash their God-given talents.
As long as these contestants are being sabotaged by their core belief (usually "...
People like me don't become superstars.
"), they will continue to fall short of the judge's expectations.
Why? Because their performances will always agree with their unconscious beliefs.
What defines talent? Who do we love to love and love to hate? And where does raw talent come from? It is otherworldly.
And, the only way to get there is to open the locked doors.
It begs the question...
