Find Your Ideal Bathroom Furniture

103 25
Your ideal bathroom is dependent on a range of factors, not least the sourcing of that perfect bathroom furniture.
Whether you choose to go for fitted or free standing furniture, or even a combination of the two, you'll need to do some research to find out what's available to you - and you'll need a vivid imagination, or a competent 3D bathroom designer on hand, to help you visualise the end result.
One sure fire way to ensure that your new bathroom will be as harmonious and coordinated throughout as you'd always dreamed, is to use fitted units and fixtures (such as bath, basin and toilet) which are either from the same range, which are displayed together in the showroom, or which are specifically marketed as being complementary.
You want your bathroom to be right for you and your home, though, not an identikit piece direct from your local showroom, so try to choose pieces because you love them.
If you buy only items that really call to you, they're almost guaranteed to look good together - it's when you're considering buying your second, third, or even fourth choice that you might begin to have doubts about how the whole design will hang together.
Fitted bathroom furniture can be a good choice if you need a lot of storage space or favour a coordinated look throughout the room.
You can choose taps, handles and a WC and basin that have a similar look: angular and ultra-modern or softly curved and feminine, for example, and choose a finish for your units which suits your taste, whether that be bright and colourful, striking monochrome, or natural.
Your units should also complement your floor covering.
If you choose to match the two exactly you'll need accessories or wall colours which break up the room: this could look beautifully bold and distinctive.
If you prefer a more subtle coordination, you could, for example, opt for wooden surfaces on gloss white units against a wood look floor, which will appear coordinated yet varied.
Freestanding furniture, such as washstands with a countertop basin and freestanding baths, can be paired with fitted items that invoke a sensation of space, such as walk in showers, to great effect.
Stacking baskets for storage, rugs for a touch of luxury, a capacious laundry basket in one corner and an easy chair in the other, will complete an opulent look in a larger bathroom.
