There are two main types of diabetes.
Both types have some symptoms in common.
The information about early diabetic symptoms is extremely important as it gives an extra edge in controlling and then maintaining the required levels of blood sugar.
Following are the earliest warning signs of diabetes Excessive Urination: This is the classic sign of diabetes.
The diabetic kidneys become loaded with too much of glucose.
The underlying reason is the malfunctioning cell, which are not efficiently using the provided glucose.
The excessive blood glucose is then flushed from the body system.
This flushing is carried out by drawing fluids from the body.
This extraction of fluids leads to another warning sign of diabetes.
Extreme Thirst: The kidneys of the diabetic person have to work hard for flushing the glucose out of the body.
This makes the person feel extremely thirsty.
If despite of drinking plenty of liquids a person still feels extremely thirsty then it is better to get a diabetes screening test.
Sudden Weight Loss: Most of us already know about the close connection between diabetes and obesity.
Sudden and unexplained weight loss is the warning diabetic symptom of type I diabetes.
The pancreas of type I diabetics fails to produce insulin because of viral attack on the cells of pancreas.
The cells of the body then start to starve from energy.
The body then has to utilize the muscle as well as fat mass for the production of energy.
Fatigue: Elevated blood sugar levels are again the main culprit here.
The cells of the body become unable to extract glucose from blood for energy production.
This leads to the feeling of completely exhausted.
This feeling is entirely different from routine fatigue feelings.
Tingling And Numbness: This sign of diabetes onset gradually.
The elevated blood sugar levels start to damage the nerves of the body.
It is a slow process and mostly the nerves at extremities are already damaged when the diagnosis is made.
Slow Healing Wounds: Tingling and numbness sensation and damage to the nervous system start to slow down the nerves particularly at feet and other extremities.
Generally the patients ignore the numbness feeling and consider it the routine sleeping of hands and feet.
Likewise the wounds remain unnoticed till a long period of time because of numb extremities.
Sometimes the sore is because of poor blood circulation.
Decrease flow of blood does not permit the oxygen to reach at the sore.
The white blood cells then become unable to kill the harmful bacteria present in the wounds.
