Nowadays almost every CD is also available to download via various outlets like iTunes. For a while now Metal Blade has been doing select digital only releases where no actual CD is available (at least in the U.S.), and the only way to purchase it is via digital download.

The Arcane Order's second album In The Wake Of Collisions is one of those digital only releases. The Danish band plays melodic death metal with a hint of black metal.


The music is intense, but also has lush keyboards that add a dark atmosphere. The songs can be very technical, but are sometimes epic and far reaching.

The vocals are brutal death metal style, and are especially effective contrasting the lush keyboards. It will be interesting to see how In The Wake Of Collisions does as a digital only release. The Arcane Order aren't household names by any means, but they are known in the metal world, and this is a very solid release.
