Hi, I'm Louis Santelices, celebrity hair stylist, and today I'm going to show you different ways to wear your hair in updos. And today, to get this look, I'm going to use L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Mega Hairspray. A couple of different looks that I'm going to show you are looks that kind of feel more Bohemian vintage, nice and loose and romantic. So, to begin, I'm going to show you the first one. What you want to do is section your hair from behind the ear. You can go ahead and just clip that away. And then, from ear to ear, we're going to have a section here. Think we want to just go a little lower. Ok, we're going to clip that out of the way, and we're going to do a small ponytail. Ok, so, we're going to go ahead. We'll come back to that. So, now, what we want to do is, from the top of the crown, we're going to back comb this whole area up here. When you back comb, you want to take your comb and insert it into the hair and go down--only going in one direction--and just back combing everything down. Lifting the hair directly up, back combing. And this is going to allow us to give us a little bit of some volume, kind of like this nice soft cushion. Now that we back combed, I'm going to take my brush and just gently come over and smooth out the back combing. And the way I like to describe when you're combing through back combing, as much as we did, you just want to do it lightly, like you're glazing a cake. So, it's not like you're brushing through it, because you're going to be combing out all the back combing so it's just nice and light. So, again, what we're going to do is just place a low ponytail--nothing with too much tension--because I want this look to be loose. Doubled up my rubber bands. And you can go ahead and pull that. You can take your tail comb and kind of just pull that out, just so we have nice evenness. We can have some volume. And you can just smooth it out if you kind of see something peeking out that you don't like. You can just comb that over. But I'm just going to pull it out--make it nice and loose. I'm going to take this ponytail and I'm just going to do a simple braid. So, you can just take the hair into three, and we're just going to braid it, just like a normal braid--nice and loose. I'm not going to put a lot of tension on my braid. I just want it loose--nice and soft. And then, you're just going to finish the braid with a small rubber band. Now that we placed the braid, I'm going to just loosen this up a little bit with my fingers. So it's nice and piecy, loose. See how that just kind of opens up like that? Nice and soft. I'm just going to take it, and then just going to wrap it around into a bun. And then I'm just going to secure it with a couple of bobby pins. This is something really pretty that you can just wear--you know--summer day, a wedding. You could just be creative and have fun with it. Ok, now I'm going to take my other ponytail and I'm going to make two smaller braids. Again, just simple braids, nothing fancy. So, now that we have our two smaller braids, I'm taking the end of the braid and I'm just kind of back combing--just like that--instead of using rubber bands. And to secure it, you can just spray it with a hairspray. Ok, so, now we're going to take our first section and we're going to wrap it around, just like a headband. And we're going to secure it with the bobby pin. And use as many as you need--depending on how thick your hair is. And take the other one, wrap it around, overlap it. And you can just tuck this piece under the other piece. Just kind of wind it through, just like that. And secure it with a bobby pin. And that's how to do an updo.
