How to Easily Move Songs From a Computer to an iPod
- 1). Open iTunes on your computer. If you do not have iTunes installed, go to apple.com/itunes and download it. Follow the wizard to set up iTunes on your computer.
- 2). Insert the USB cable into the iPod, and plug the USB end into a USB port on your computer. ITunes will recognize the iPod, and it will appear in iTunes as the name that you've given the device. If you haven't named the device, give it a name now.
- 3). Browse through the music stored on your computer by clicking on "Library" in iTunes. You will see a list of the music that you have in iTunes, which you can organize alphabetically, by genre, by artist, and many other ways.
- 4). Decide what music you'd like to put on your iPod, then drag the file from the Library into the iPod. The iPod will show up in the left panel under the name that you've given the device. When you release the file from a drag into the iPod, the file will copy onto the device so that you have one copy in the library and another on the iPod.
- 5). Move several songs at once by holding the Ctrl key while clicking on each file, then dragging the entire selection to the iPod at once.
- 6). Wait until all of the files have finished copying to the iPod, then eject the iPod from iTunes by clicking on the "Eject" button.
