How to Draw a Swimsuit

104 18
    • 1). Draw the body shape of the person who wears the swimsuit, if desired. Draw horizontal shoulders that fall into a wide, hourglass shape if you are drawing a woman. If you are drawing a man, the shoulders should fall into an triangular shape that meets rectangular hips. You might wish to skip this process if you want the swimsuit, rather than the figure of a man or woman, to be the focus.

    • 2). Add a head, hair and facial features, if desired.

    • 3). Draw a horizontal line that falls just below the breasts if you are drawing a woman in a two-piece swimsuit. Place your pencil just to the right of the middle of the chest and draw a diagonal line to the top of the breast. Draw a diagonal line from this point to the horizontal line. At the tip of the triangle, draw a line to the right side of the neck. This creates the right triangle of the triangle top. Draw a triangle on the left side to complete the top piece of the swimsuit.

    • 4). Create a horizontal line at the tip of the hips. This line serves as the beginning of the bottom piece of the swimsuit and should be found on male and female swimsuits. Draw a diagonal line from the crotch to just below the horizontal line to form the right side of a bikini or Speedo bottom. Draw a symmetrical line on the other side to finish the bottom.

    • 5). Draw a horizontal line halfway down the upper thigh, if you are drawing board short-type swim wear. This line should be slightly wider than the thigh, creating a baggy appearance. Draw another line on the other side. Add a tie at the top of the board shorts. This tie should look similar to the bow created by tying your shoelaces.

    • 6). Fill in the space between the top and bottom portion of swim wear if you are drawing a women's one piece. Draw a line from the edges of the top piece to the edges of the bottom piece. The line should follow the figure's torso.

    • 7). Add arms and legs to the figure, if desired.

    • 8). Color the swimsuit a solid color or pattern. Stripes, polka dots and flowers are common swimsuit patterns.
