How to Know Which Textbook Edition I Have

    • 1). Open the book to the title page and turn the page. On the reverse side you will find the copyright page.

    • 2). Look for the copyright information. This will precede or follow a notice such as "Library of Congress Catalog Card Number" or "Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data."

    • 3). Look for the edition information. This information follows the author and title information. It will appear as an abbreviation, such as "4th. ed."

    • 4). Look on the front cover. The edition number will be printed clearly below the title.

    • 5). Go to a book retailer's website, such as Amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com. Click on the option for "Advanced Search." Type in the book's ISBN number. Click on the title of the book and scroll down to "Product Details." The edition number follows the publisher listing.
