How to Get Candle Wax Out of a Fleece Blanket
- 1). Hold the blanket with the stain facing the floor to allow gravity to help you from spreading the stain any further.
- 2). Hold the blanket over the sink or outside in your yard until there is no longer a danger of wax dripping onto everything else or spreading over more areas of the blanket.
- 3). Fold the blanket up as small as you can making sure that the stain is on top and facing up.
- 4). Place the blanket into the freezer. Make sure that the wax isn't touching anything else.
- 5). Remove the blanket from the freezer after 30 minutes. This will give the wax plenty of time to solidify.
- 6). Peel away the wax with your fingers or use tweezers if necessary to remove all of the wax.
- 7). Lay the blanket on an ironing board or a flat surface with the stain facing up.
- 8). Place a paper towel directly on top of the stained area.
- 9). Iron over the paper towel to transfer the wax from the blanket to the paper towel. Make sure that the iron is on a low setting.
- 10
Replace the paper towel as it becomes dirty and keep ironing until no more wax comes up. - 11
Treat any residual stain with bleach-free liquid dish soap by applying it to the area and working it in with a clean cloth or sponge. - 12
Launder the blanket per the manufacturer's instructions for washing. Do not place it in the dryer until the stain is gone. It may need a second treatment of dish soap and a second trip through the wash.
