Mystery Case Files Return to Ravenhearst Tips
- Unlike previous entries in the Mystery Case Files series, there is no time limit in this game. This means that the player doesn't have to worry about meeting certain goals by a certain time, making this the most free-roaming game in the series. As with the other games, anywhere the cursor sparkles is a clickable space. This may be simply a point of interest, or it might be a hidden object. The typewriter on the bottom right hand side of the screen will give you hints about objects if you drop them there.
- One of the trickier puzzles in the game is the one located in the cemetery by the cliffs. There are two broken lights on the puzzle, so you don't need to worry about those. They are simply there as red herrings. There are multiple rings on the puzzle. Take the outer ring and spin it until the four working lights all have a line pointing at them. Do the same thing with each ring successively as you work your way to the middle. When all of the rings are synchronized, the door will open and you can add the sun signet to your collection.
- Through the kitchen is a hall of doors. On your first trip into this hallway, you'll notice all of the doors are locked, but the middle door has a puzzle. Click the switch to the left of the door to begin working the puzzle. The plus and minus signs in the center of the puzzle indicate the nature of the game, which is to create an equation. You have to watch the numbers as well as the colored lights to answer the equation. For instance, if the blue light indicates a 7 and there is a 3 on the other side of the minus sign, then you'll need to turn the answer key to blue, 4, because 4 answers 7-3 correctly. The numbers are different for each game.
