London‘s Major Train Stations

London has an excellent Railway network served by Heavy rails and Light Rails.

London Victoria

London Victoria Station is one of London's major stations and the busiest tube station. Located in Zone 1, this station serves over 76 million people every year across the station. It is serviced by the London Underground District and Circle lines and the Victoria line.

South East UK destinations are served largely by National Rail trains from Victoria Station and some of the destinations include Brighton, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Gatwick Airport. It has also has Ferry links from Dover, Folkestone, Newhaven and Ramsgate. The Orient Express officially called the Venice-Simplon Orient Express departs from London Victoria to Vienna via Paris.

There are a number of hotels within the close vicinity of the station. Luxury and budget hotels near Victoria station serve passengers who visit Victoria. The station is named after England's successful Monarch Queen Victoria (1819 - 1901). This area is close to some of London's best attractions and hence receives high passenger traffic throughout the year.

Victoria Coach station, London's main bus terminus is just a 300 metre walk from the station.

London Paddington

London Paddington Station was opened in 1854 and is one of London's main train stations that serve as Gateway to London. This station connects London to South East England and South Wales. London Paddington as it is generally called this station has 14 terminal platforms and is managed by Network Rail.

Paddington Station is the terminus for long-distance, high-speed and local trains operated by First Great Western to Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Exeter and Penzance in the West Country, Hereford and Worcester in the West Midlands, and Newport, Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales, Reading and Oxford. Paddington station is also the terminus for services to Heathrow Airport through Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect. Chiltern Railways uses Paddington as an alternative station when Marylebone Station is inaccessible.

Paddington Underground is on zone 1 and is served by four Underground lines Hammersmith and City Line, Circle Line, District Line and Bakerloo Line. You have a great selection of shops and restaurants. Paddington station is easily accessible through buses and taxis operating in the city.

London Waterloo

London Waterloo station was opened in 1898 and is managed by London Underground. It is in zone 1 and has 8 platforms. It is London's second busiest station and is served by the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern and the Waterloo & City lines. It's a major Underground Station located in Central London and has plenty of tourist attractions close to the station. Both private and public bus services operate to and from the station and the surrounding areas.

With Heavy rail, tube, trams and Dockland Light Railway services, London Railway network serves across London and many parts of the United Kingdom.
