Robot Wants Kitty - Flash Game Review
Robot Wants Kitty defies all first impressions from its 'odd' title and seemingly retro appearance and sound.
However, it is genuinely one of the most fun games I have played! Instead of a bizarre story line and fifty levels of mind boggling puzzles, Robot Wants Kitty consists of merely one level.
Albeit it is a substantially long level however it is fun and I can guarantee you will not leave until you have completed it.
Irritatingly, the objective to this long mission is directly above you to start with.
However you must travel the map to get power ups, using these to kill creatures, overcome large obstacles and scale large stretches of acidic waste.
You start of not being able to do anything except fall off of platforms and move left and right.
You do not even have the skill to jump, fortunately this is the first power up you encounter and from there on you may use it to avoid creatures and gain more power ups.
The objective is to find all the colored circles, there are three of them situated around the level.
These give you the ability to open doors of the corresponding color, which allow you to access new areas of the level and therefore gain the crucial power ups needed for the map.
The exciting aspect of the game is finding all of the different power ups.
They range from double jumps to missiles, yet they are all necessary to complete the mission.
The gameplay itself is very retro, with it comes the abrupt movement.

When you move it moves at a constant speed, and when you stop it stops dead on the spot you release the arrow key.
This does not prove to be too much hassle though.
The controls are complicated because there are many additional features to the ones that you learn early in the game.
For example the double jump is just the same button twice, and some actions require two keys pressed at once.
Becoming familiar with these is easier due to the fact that you learn different actions the further into the game you get.
You are not given them at the beginning and are struggling to remember them all straight away.
Robot Wants Kitty is a classic game, and unbelievably fun.
My first impressions were that it was going to be rather boring, but as I got more and more engrossed in the game I found myself enjoying it and not long after I was eager to complete the game, and was not satisfied until I did.
