Plastic Expansion Anchors

• 1). Remove the screw partway out of the plastic expansion anchor with a screwdriver.
  
  
• 2). Pull on the screw until the anchor comes out of the wall along with the screw. Wiggling the screw slightly can help remove the anchor, as it enlarges the hole in the wall made by the anchor.
  
  
• 3). Spackle the hole to fill it in.
  
  

Plastic Threaded Anchors

• 1). Insert a screwdriver into the anchor head.
  
  
• 2). Turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise to unscrew the anchor from the wall. If you can't unscrew the anchor, another option is to drill or screw the anchor further into the wall.
  
  
• 3). Spackle and paint over the anchor or the empty hole.
