Norton 2010 & AOL Problems
- The major source of conflict between Norton Antivirus 2010 and AOL is firewall software. Due to coding conflicts, the Norton firewall software may incorrectly interpret AOL-based pages and programs as viral or spyware.
- When the Norton Firewall is disabled by the user to bypass conflicts with AOL, it may launch a notification with AOL that the protection software has been tampered with. This can be remedied by selecting the Allow dialog box in Norton 2010 and making certain that firewall settings aren't set to Auto.
- A third source of AOL and Norton conflict is when using the AOL browser. AOL programming may allow certain sites, but Norton's codes could identify them as spyware or malware. This conflict may cause both programs to crash.
