Why Bark Collars Can Really Work For You

103 11
Bark collars tend to be put on the back burner as an option when it comes to training a dog not to bark unless for particular reasons, and that is simply because many people don't understand how they were designed to be used.
In lots of cases bark collars are not used properly in the first place which is yet another deterrent for some once they learn about their friends' problems with the collars.
In order to be successful at using bark collars it is important to understand how a they should properly work and the best way to employ the collar for your dog.
Don't forget that there are also plenty of options to choose from when it comes to different brands and models of available collars.
Different Types of Bark Collars Bark collars come in a few different varieties, 3 to be exact.
Consumers can choose from citronella versions, which are used to spray a small amount of citronella toward a dog once they have been barking for a prolonged (usually specified by the owner or preset into a particular model) period of time.
Electronic based collars are the most known version of these kinds of collars and they also carry the brunt of reasoning why some people are afraid to use them.
These electronic collars work similar to the citronella version but instead of citronella being sprayed at the dog, a small shock is sent to the dog (usually around the neck) and is supposed to be at a safe level, not meant to harm a dog in any way.
Finally, some consumers may choose to use an ultrasonic version of the collar.
Working about the same way both the electronic and citronella versions do, a high pitched ultrasonic sound is emitted to keep a dog from barking too much.
The noise is loud enough for the dog to understand but too loud for most humans to ever hear.
Benefits of Using Bark Collars Unlike traditional training methods, an owner can establish and maintain control even while away from the dog wearing the collar.
In fact this has been found to be so successful that after just a few short months of using these collars, many owners find that the dogs learn acceptable behavior and don't need the use of the collar as much any longer.
