We work very difficult to ensure that the development of the zoo doesn't have an adverse effect on the gorgeous woodland environment that makes it quite unique among zoos. As a result we have plenty of open spaces for the children to run free and readers are very welcome to bring an open-air picnic and simply enjoy the surroundings.

We've regular daily events for example public talks at feeding times, animal encounters and special activities for the children during the holidays for example quiz-trails and face-painting. Our restaurant is a superb place to stop off for any coffe and cake or perhaps a freshly cooked lunch and there is space set aside for that under-fives to roll around with toys.
