• Butterfly themed invitations are a good way to kick off the celebration. This gives party organizers an opportunity to stretch their creativity and is also a way to personalize invitations. • Your centerpieces can feature bright colors, handmade name cards and other special touches. Include butterfly shaped confetti, place settings and silverware in colors that reflect the sex of the child or choose something more neutral or even multicolored. Another option is to go more adult-oriented. Several online sources offer silver candle holders with butterfly themes, printed name plaques with butterfly stencils and napkins with embroidery. For a combination of the two, select some clear vases and add a variety of flowers in bold, bright colors. Goody Bags

• Instead of traditional goody bags, consider using mesh butterfly nets. This creative twist sticks with the theme and helps the party stand out for participants. Consider adding silk butterflies to the outside to match the party theme colors. Include trinkets and thank you notes, each of which can continue the butterfly theme. Another option is to use the butterfly nets as decorations and filling them with baby goods: onesies, socks and bibs. At the end of the shower, these can go to the mom-to-be.
  
  

Food

• Most home stores have butterfly shaped cookie cutters, cake pans and other kitchen goods. You can use the cookie cutters for cookies and to cut themed sandwiches or other goodies. Guests can chill their drinks with butterfly shaped ice cubes. You can either bake a butterfly shaped cake or use a standard shaped cake with piped frosting butterflies and add candy or toy butterflies after the frosting is finished. Another option is individual cupcakes decorated with the same butterflies as in the centerpieces.
