Born to humble beginnings in Johnstone, Scotland, Gordon was an aspiring football player until he badly injured his knee during a match.
Despite the injury, he continued to play as he was trying to impress agents from a major football club.
This resulted in him critically injuring the knee by tearing one of the ligaments and ending his football career at the age of 19.
He then turned to cooking, which up to that time had been just a hobby, and enrolled at a local catering college.
Over the next 7 years, he trained with some of the world's best chefs in both England, France, and Bermuda.
In 1993, Gordon returned to London and was offered a job plus partnership in a new restaurant opening up called Aubergine.
In 1997 the Restaurant won it's second Michelin Star, a feat not easy for a restaurant only 2 years old.
Gordon soon split with his partners and opened his own restaurant called Gordon Ramsay At Royal Hospital Road.
In 2002, this restaurant won it's 3rd Michelin star, Making Gordon the first Scot to ever achieve that status.
Gordon soon expanded his personal culinary empire and now has a personal worth in excess of 55 million pounds, or more than $100 million US dollars.
He first appeared on British TV in a fly on the wall documentary titled Boiling Point.
That spawned a sequel called Beyond Boiling Point, both of which showcased Gordon's Kitchen antics and temper as he fought to achieve Michelin Stars - the highest rating for a restaurant worldwide.
In 2004, Gordon appeared in a series called Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, where he spent two weeks turning a failing or downtrodden restaurant around into a high producing quality establishment.
This series lead to the British Hell's Kitchen.
Where he took 10 aspiring British chefs and trained them through a process of elimination down to a single chef he then hired to work for him in one of his own restaurants.
Fox TV then bought the American rights to Hell's Kitchen, and made it their own.
And now we are upon the emergence of Season 3 of the Hell's Kitchen saga.
This Monday, 12 aspiring wannabe chefs will go head to head with Chef Ramsay in a battle of wills and sarcasm.
Foul language and tears.
As he forges from this lump of American humanity the one perfect chef that will do his reputation justice and do the best he or she can do, Gordon Style.
Judging from the previews already on the Fox website, this season is going to be good.
Make sure to tune in 9pm on Mondays.
