How do I Prevent Windows From Opening Explorer When Mapping Network Drive?
- 1). Open Windows Explorer by clicking "Start," "All Programs" and "Windows Explorer."
- 2). View the Windows Explorer menus by pressing "Ctrl" in the Windows Explorer window.
- 3). Click "Tools" and choose "Map Network Drive."
- 4). Select a drive letter by clicking the "Drive" box and clicking an available drive letter from the list.
- 5). Select a shared network folder by typing its location into the "Folder" box or clicking "Browse," clicking the folder and clicking "OK."
- 6). Press and hold the "Shift" key on your keyboard and click "Finish" in the "Map Network Drive" window. Holding the "Shift" key while clicking "Finish" prevents Windows from opening a new Explorer window.
