How to Transfer Contacts From Excel to an iPhone
- 1). Open the contacts spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel. Click the "Disk" icon to open a "Save" dialog box. Input the desired name from the file and choose ".csv" from the list of available formats. Press "Save."
- 2). Click the "Start" button and choose "Outlook Express." Choose the "File" menu and choose "Address Book" from the "Import" sub-menu. Browse the hard drive for the .csv file and click "Open." Wait for Outlook Express to tell you that the import has completed.
- 3). Insert the iPhone's USB cable into the iPhone's base, then insert the other end into the computer's USB port. Launch iTunes if the program doesn't open automatically, choose the name of the iPhone and open the "Info" tab.
- 4). Tick the box next to "Sync Contacts With:" and choose "Outlook Express" from the list of options. Return to the "Summary" tab, click "Sync" and wait for iTunes to tell you the sync has finished. Eject and remove the iPhone from the computer. Contacts from the Excel file now appear in the Contacts menu under "Phone."
