Telluride Colorado is widely known as a winter recreational playground.
It receives a great deal of snow that makes the surrounding terrain perfect for winter sports and activities like downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
The Telluride Ski Resort does not only boast world-class winter recreational opportunities, it also offers a breathtaking mountain scenery.
But there is also another major reason it is fun to visit Telluride during the warmer months.
This city might as well be called "the Festival Capital of Colorado".
Every year, Telluride is host to various exciting festivals that makes it an iconic North American destination.
Some of the well-known festivals held in Telluride are the Jazz Celebration, the Film Festival, and the Bluegrass Festival.
June is a period to celebrate heritage and music.
This is the month of the Bluegrass Festival, which attracts thousands of music fans.
The main venues for this more than 40-year old music extravaganza are Colorado Avenue and Telluride Town Park.
During this festival, expect to see plenty of musicians from all over carrying their instruments and showing off their talent on the streets of Telluride.

In August, music is in the air again as the Telluride Jazz Festival is celebrated.
Held continuously during every weekend since 1977, this jazz festival is organized by the Telluride Society for Jazz, and promises to be a truly distinct and memorable experience set in a scenic mountainous environment.
During the day, outstanding jazz performances are held at the outdoor stages set in the Free Stage at Wilkinson Public Library and the historic Town Park.
If you happen to miss them; you can still catch the late night performances staged in various clubs and historic theaters.

But August is not only the month of jazz in Telluride, it is also the month for the Mushroom Festival celebration.
After all, August is the prime season for these marvelous fungus, grown primarily in the San Juan Mountains.
This is a quirky festival where locals freely walked in elaborate costumes inspired by different kinds of mushrooms! But the event is not just fun and games; as it also offers workshops and conferences that discuss the many uses and benefits of this fungi in people's lives.
There is no doubt that Telluride loves arts, and during Labor Day Weekend, the good mountain folks celebrate the Telluride Film Festival.
This event involves the screening of over 50 independent films in various venues in the city.
The screenings and corresponding ticket fees are established to cater to a range of budget and preferences.
By September, before winter makes a grand chilly appearance together with snow and rain, Telluride make sway for yet another fun-filled event called the Blues and Brews Festival.
This special celebration is held for three days and has become quite popular to both locals and tourists.
While skiing is the dominate attraction at Telluride, this city has enough going on year round to bring you back often!
