How to Get Rented Books on Nook
- 1). Launch a Web browser on your computer, then go to the Adobe Digital Editions Install Web page at www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/.
- 2). Click the "Install" button, then click "Install" again and save the file to your computer.
- 3). Double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions to install the Digital Editions application. Click the check box to automatically start the software on the Installation Complete window, then click "Finish." The Adobe Digital Editions window opens.
- 4). Click "Continue" on the Setup Assistant box, then click "Get an Adobe Online ID." The Create an Adobe Account Web page automatically opens. Click the "Create an Adobe Account" button, then fill out the required fields to open an account, such as your name and email address. Create a password for the ID. Record the ID and password and keep it in a secure location.
- 5). Click the "Authorize Computer" check box in the Setup Assistant box, then enter your Adobe ID and password in the appropriate boxes and click the "Activate" button.
- 6). Connect your Nook to the computer with its USB cable, then enter your Adobe ID in the pop-up window. Your Nook automatically appears in the Digital Editions window.
- 7). Go to your library's Digital Library website, then log in into the site with your library card number and password. Browse the ebooks in the library until you find a book that you want to rent.
- 8). Click "Add to Cart" next to the title of the book, then click "Proceed to Checkout" and select the loan period. Click "Download" and select "Open" on the Download window. The ebook automatically opens in Adobe Digital Editions.
- 9). Click the "Library View" icon at the top of the window, then click the downloaded title on the right side of the window and drag it onto the "Nook" icon under "Bookshelves." The ebook is automatically transferred to your Nook.

Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon, at the bottom right corner of the desktop, then click the option to remove the Nook. Disconnect the Nook from your computer. The rented ebook is available in the Library section on your Nook for the duration of the rental period.
