Using The Web To Get Life Coaching Clients

103 20
The explosion of people setting up life coaching practices over the last 2 years or so has meant that the fight to attract clients who are looking for life coaching has grown ever more competitive.
As little as 5 years ago simply having a website announcing to the world you are an adviser was enough to separate you from the majority of advisers.
That is no longer the case.
The fact that life coaching is not regulated means that anybody can set up in business as an adviser without any training, skills or relevant experience.
This has lead to a proliferation of much younger web savvy life coaches that may or may not understand the nuances of advising, but sure know how to market themselves and drive traffic to their websites.
And that latter part is crucial because many life coaches from the older generation are either not adopting Web 2.
0 practices, or are doing so half-heatedly and getting discouraged when they don't see immediate results.
It is easy for a new career coach, or one that is trying to transition from old school ways of networking to see all the available options and become overwhelmed.
Having a website no matter how good it is, is no longer sufficient because prospective clients expect to be able to interact with you too.
That interaction may come in the form of conversation on your blog, following you on Twitter or being a fan on Facebook.
Then there is also YouTube, LinkedIn, Quora and a plethora of other social media sites that offer niche opportunities.
Whereas being visible on all of them isn't an absolute must for every adviser, it is important to realize that every platform holds the potential to supply a different stream of traffic to your website and thus potential clients.
If you are a career coach that is struggling to generate clients at the moment I would urge you to embrace new media because it will not be going away.
If need be get professional help by outsourcing then that's absolutely fine as long as you know you can trust the person you hire 100%.
The alternative is to join the ranks of all the career coaches that are barely managing to keep their heads above water.
