Don"t Do Drugs - Just Say No!

103 15
I think that most Western governments, will inevitably, one day, 'legalize' drugs.
Really.
I don't think that they will have any choice.
If you look at today, so called illegal drugs, have been used by over 50% of the population.
Our prisons, police forces and legal systems are overwhelmed by this 'battle' with drugs.
They are losing a war that cannot be won.
In fact, the manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs is now one of the biggest businesses in the world and guess what? Because it is illegal, it is by default, a criminal and tax free activity.
It is estimated that around 70% of all criminal activity is drug related.
Prohibition was proven not to work in the 1930's yet here we are today, going on the same flight path, destined to crash and burn.
At least if drugs are legal, you have the opportunity to regulate the distribution and importantly, the manufacture.
God only knows what some poor kids are injecting into their arms.
When governments finally get around to legalizing drugs, I also think it is important that governments use EVERY single dollar raised in 'drug' taxes in education (against the use of drugs) and rehabilitation (for those already addicted).
The revenues should NOT go into the general coffers (as with tobacco and alcohol currently).
So, what has all this got to do with you? Well, whether legal or illegal, at some stage in your life, you will be offered some drugs.
There will probably be some peer pressure and you will be assured of the benefits (go on, you'll feel great).
There will be part of you that is adventurous, rebellious even, and will want to give it a go.
My serious and heartfelt advice to you is this: JUST SAY NO.
No matter what the drug is, your life will be immeasurably better WITHOUT it.
Trust me.
By the way, if this advice has come too late for you and you now find yourself with a 'habit' I would like to assure you that 'habits' can be broken.
Seek help.
Get off it.
Get clean.
Here endeth the sermon.
Sorry for shouting.
