What could be a better place to spot tiger than India? Home to virtually half of the world's tiger population currently, India's 1,400 big cats are sprawling over almost 40 national parks. Below are mentioned the names of popular national parks that are home to maximum number of tigers.

Ranthambore National Park:

Perhaps, the most famed national park in India is Ranthambore National Park. It occupies a total area of 1,334 sq. km and is a paradise of wildlife photographers. Widely known for best scenic tiger photos, it won't be wrong to guess that the photo is taken at Ranthambore National Park in case you come across one. Besides the big cats, the park houses sloth bears, India foxes, crocodiles, jackals, leopards, hyenas, jungle cats and the likes.

Jim Corbett National Park:

If you want to spot tigers while not missing great vistas, then Jim Corbett National Park is a must visit attraction. Set in 1936, it is recognized as one of the oldest parks of India. One can easily spot a tiger that roams throughout the park without paying heed to the onlookers. You can further notice serow, barking deer, sambal, Himalayan tahr, chital, fishing cats, jungle cats and sloth bears. It has a variety of terrain – from marshes to sal forests.

Satpura National Park:

Apart from spotting tigers, travelers can look for some adventure as well. The park was established in 1981 and charms visitors with a wide variety of wild animals, such as chin kara, wild boars, bears, foxes, flying squirrel, gaur, hyena, gaur, chital and black bucks.If you happen to be in summer, go to the Sonbhadra River to see tigers swimming and playing.

Bandhavgarh National Park:

Bandhavgarh National Park is known for its highest density of tigers (approximately 50 tigers) in the region. While roaming in the park, you are likely to see other animals, such as sambar, leopard, nilgai antelope, Indian Bison, blue ball, four-horned antelope and many more. April to June is the best time to locate tigers. However, the park is open October through June.

Kanha National Park:

Kanha National Park is located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This is also a great place to spot tigers. The national park boasts open meadows where there are maximum possibilities of witnessing tigers and other wildlife animals. April to June is an ideal time to visit Kanha National Park.
