How to Clean Bubbled Concrete Mold in a Basement
- 1). Equip yourself with rubber gloves, an N-95 respiratory mask, a long-sleeve shirt, long pants and safety goggles without vent holes.
- 2). Fill a spray bottle with water. Mist the mold with the water. Wipe the surface mold off the bubble concrete with a cloth. This will prevent spores from being released into the air during the removal process.
- 3). Fill a 5-gallon bucket with 1 gallon of water. Add ½ cup of trisodium phosphate and 2 drops of liquid dish soap. Mix the contents together with a wooden spoon. Alternatively, substitute bleach in place of the trisodium phosphate.
- 4). Fill a second 5-gallon bucket with cool water. Place both buckets within reaching distance of your work area.
- 5). Use a scrub brush saturated in the mixture to scrub the bubble concrete clean. Allow the mixture to sit on the concrete for 15 minutes.
- 6). Saturate a cloth in the cool water. Rinse the concrete clean by wiping with the saturated cloth. Allow the bubble concrete to air dry.
