Getting Younger

103 20
Life begins at 40? Forty is said to be the old age of youth.
Fifty, the youth of old age.
Then at sixty, we go through the twilight years of life; the time and last chance for us to share love, care, kindness, gentleness, patience and truth with others.
Indeed, youth will slip away from every mortal.
Oftentimes, we act and think as if we'd live forever.
Life is short, so they say.
When we reminisce our past, we feel remorseful that we didn't take life more seriously while we were young.
We could have made a big difference.
Life can begin at 30, 50, 60- it is never too late to be what you wish you had become.
But our daily concerns, problems and obligations bring more white hair and wrinkles than we care to have.
To make life more fulfilling and worthwhile, we have to feel young, more alive and energetic.
Let me share with you the following secrets to an enthusiastic living which I gathered from some sources: 1.
Have a reason to live, whether it is a job or a hobby, indulge in anything that interests you.
This will make waking up in the morning full of joy and anticipation.
2.
Get involved.
Be aware and meet people with same interests as you.
Stand for something and fight for it.
3.
Keep loving and giving.
Everything we have is borrowed and will have to be returned someday.
In giving you will be able to keep beautiful feelings and good memories.
The more you give, the more you'll have.
4.
Keep opening doors.
Always look and move forward.
Keep in mind that when a door closes on you, a thousand doors are waiting to be flung open.
5.
Keep working and being useful.
Should you decide to retire from your profession or job, venture into other areas or expertise that will make you still grow intellectually and spiritually.
6.
Keep striving to be the best that you can be.
Keep on learning to truly enhance your mind and your life.
Life is a non-stop university.
7.
Be adventurous and open to change.
The ordinary, mediocre life is monotonous and predictable.
Take some calculated risks to be able to reap huge rewards.
8.
Marvel at life and savor it.
Take time to stop, appreciate the beauty of nature, smell the flowers and be amazed at God's creations.
Try to leave your own positive mark which people will remember long after you are gone.
Most of all, connect with your spirit and discover its secret needs and mission.
Take some moments to praise God that you become part of His glorious gifts.
Thank God for taking care of you even if you lived your life your way- which you now realize was not the best way.
