You'll also find a link to Ping Test Net, where you can check the quality of your line for "ping" and "jitter," two factors that affect the downloading of large files or streaming video.

    • 4). Choose the Federal Communications Commission download and upload speed test (see link in the Resource section). You'll also find some basic information on download, upload, ping and jitter.
