The Central Algarve in Portugal is well prepaired to make the holiday-maker and tourist feel welcome. A prime location for holiday lettings, it is has one of the highest concentrations of hotels and apartments in the area.

The Central Algarve region is the best equipped for climbing, walking, cylcing, golf and more; ranging from sports for the action-loving tourist to the leisure seeker, looking for a holiday to take a break from the norm. The Central Algarve region in Portugal stretches from Faro in the East 45 miles west across to Portimo. Faro, the main travel gateway to the area, has the major airport situated there, is a vibrant and energetic town; know for its history, architecture and rich cultural tapestry. Sadly it is often overlooked, seen only as a checking-in, checking-out location in Central Algarve, but should you visit the area you will certainly find it worth your while if you have the time to take out and explore.

Of course, even if you choose to visit or take up holiday lettings in the Central Algarve you'll also have the rest of the Algarve on your doorstep. If you head east you get to experience the 'real' coastal towns, considerably less tourist developed areas giving a richer cultural feel, letting you get closer to the seafaring side of Portugal.

Looking west you have a region which sits roughly between Central and Eastern Algarve in terms of tourist development. This is best shown by the historic town of Lagos, which is probably the best known of the West Algarve holiday resorts. There is a historic town with natural harbour with great beaches with access to many water sports in addition to plenty of rugged and picturesque countryside to explore.

To get the best experience the Algarve culture be sure to search out for Fado, folk music of the area. Fado can be found performed over much of Portugal as part of local festivals and in bars and restaurants. Fado can be heard as a constant accompaniment as a rich, yet haunting musical tradition. This may not be for everyone, but it is really something you have to experience firsthand if you are in the Algarve region.

There are many ways to take advantage of all the Central Algarve has to offer, from apartments, villas and more, there is of course the timeshare option, this being a popular option in the local area, or you can take up possible holiday lettings - you really are spoilt for choice.
