Living with Type 2 diabetes presents many different kinds of challenges, and this most certainly includes diet issues.
However, it's much easier to navigate the tricky waters of diabetes when you understand which foods are best for you to avoid.
While some foods can be eaten in moderation, diabetics really need to watch their intake levels of these particular foods.
When possible, it's best to remove these particular food items out of your eating plan completely to give yourself the best chance at living a healthy life with Type 2 diabetes, or even reversing the condition.

First of all, avoid fast food french fries at all costs.
Why? When you think about the amount of fat and rancid oils that are sucked into fast food french fries, you can see why they could be hazardous to anyone's health.
They pack more dangerous fat content into such a small size than just about any other food you can buy.
For Type 2 diabetics, eating fast food french fries only adds to the negative effects and possible heart disease complications that can arise.

Fried chicken is another diet no-no when you are a diabetic.
While eating lean protein, like chicken, can be a good thing, fried chicken is covered with fatty, oily breading and sometimes even the skin of the chicken.
Again, this is unnecessary fat and rancid oil your body doesn't need when you are trying to protect yourself from high blood pressure and heart disease.

Taco salads
are another type of food you might want to think twice about eating.
The reason for this is because they are full of different kinds of fatty foods including cheese, sour cream and sometimes fatty meats.
Even though it has the word salad in it, it doesn't make it healthy! 4.
Diabetics even have to be careful with smoothies
because they naturally contain a high level of sugar.
For instance, if you make a smoothie at home with frozen strawberries, blueberries and milk, you will no doubt have a serious blood sugar spike.
This is because you are having carbohydrates with little to no protein.
Check with your doctor to find out exactly what kind of smoothie might be right for you.

Finally, be careful with fattening salad dressing.
So many people pour too much dressing on their salad without realizing just how much fat and sugar it usually contains.
Instead, have your dressing on the side and simply dip your fork in it before each bite.
You will still find you have a tasty salad with fewer calories!
