How to Open BIOS in a Computer
- 1). Power on your computer by pressing the power button on the front of the system. Restart the computer if it is already powered on.
- 2). Search for any messages during the POST (Power On Self Test) screen that indicate the key or keys that must be pressed to access the BIOS. The message may read "Press (F1, F2, F10, DELETE) to enter system setup." Laptop users may need to press the "Fn" key in conjunction with the "F1," "F2," "F10" or "DELETE" key to enter the system BIOS interface.
- 3). Press the specified key or keys to enter the system BIOS screen. If no message was displayed regarding how to access the BIOS, system setup or system configuration, check the motherboard manual for instructions.
- 4). Navigate the BIOS settings using the keyboard's arrow keys.
- 5). Select "Save and Exit" from the main menu to save any changed settings, close the system BIOS and restart the machine.
