How to Remove Scuff Marks From Plastic
- 1). Scrub the scuff marks off the plastic with a magic cleaning eraser. These white, rectangle shaped foam-like cleaning pads are available in the cleaning aisle of department stores.
- 2). Apply lighter fluid to a rag. Scrub the plastic item with the rag until the scuff marks are gone. Rinse the item by wiping with a damp cloth. Be careful when using lighter fluid. It is extremely flammable and should be kept away from open flames and sparks.
- 3). Apply water-displacing spray directly onto the scuff marks. Allow the spray to sit on the plastic for 30 seconds. Wipe the area clean with a damp cloth. Repeat the process until the scuff marks are no longer visible.
- 4). Pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on a clean, white cloth. Rub the scuff marks off the plastic with the cloth. Add a few more drops of rubbing alcohol and continue scrubbing until all scuff marks are gone.
- 5). Apply a metal, plastic and fiberglass polish, such as Flitz, to a cloth. Rub the plastic with the cloth to clean away the scuff marks. Be sure to follow all directions and warnings for your specific brand of polish.
