Bhanu Choudhrie - The Investment Banker
Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie, Executive Director of C&C Alpha Group and Entrepreneur of the year 2008 at Asian Voice Political and Public life awards, has truly made his mark in the international business scene. With roots reaching deep into the banking and financial advisory sectors, he now spearheads his company's businesses with investment portfolios covering diverse sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, aviation, real estate, agriculture and utilities.
Born in New Delhi in 1978 to Mr. Sudhir Choudhrie, a renowned entrepreneur and financial advisor, Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie completed his Masters in International Business and Marketing at the University of Boston and thereafter, completed an inte rnship with JP Morgan in 1999 before moving to London to establish the C&C Alpha Group, a London-based private equity group. In addition to this he is also a private equity investor with investments in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Asia and he is also a Director of Customers Bancorp, Inc. in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie, despite being a very busy man, finds time to give something back to the community which he feels has given him so much. He believes in the Hindu philosophy of the more one gives, the more one gets back, which is why he acts as Director of 'Path to Success,' a charity run by his mother, Mrs. Anita Choudhrie, which helps underprivileged children and those with physical disabilities to reach their full potential. He helps out with their day-to-day management as well as helps to promote the charity by organizing fund raising events. He is also an avid art collector, and is looking to promote Asian artists and help them to find a larger platform to showcase their talents. He feels that an odd piece displayed at very few museums and galleries is not enough to promote the ocean of talent just waiting to be discovered. To this effect, he has set up the Stellar Art Foundation and has secured a location in Central London to showcase Asian artists and musicians.
At just 32 years of age, Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie already has an impressive list of accomplishments to his credit and is also a notable social worker in the community and has been working towards helping those in need. With the recognition of the entrepreneur of the year 2008 award and many more awards which must certainly be in the pipeline, we can look forward to many more ambitious projects from him.
