Loras College is a private, Catholic liberal arts college located in Dubuque, Iowa. Clarke University and the University of Dubuque are both less than a mile away. The college places high value on technology, and all full-time students receive an IBM laptop computer. Undergraduates can choose from over 40 areas of study with fields in business and education being most popular.
The college emphasizes active learning and encourages study abroad, internships and service learning. Academics are supported by a healthy 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. For a small school, Loras has an impressive number of clubs, organizations and activities to engage students (nearly 150 at last count).
