Relating Between Florida and Detox

101 13
Detox or detoxification is a medical process of cleansing a substance from an addicted individual's system. If a person ingests poison, the doctors give various medications to flush the toxins out of his or her blood, digestive system, and in fact the entire body. Similarly, narcotics and alcohol are also poisons. They are even more troublesome because they are social toxins as well; eating into the sanctity of urban society. This is proven by the way that substance abuse is a more relevant problem in heavily urbanized States like Florida. Detox centers and rehabs are also more frequent around such areas.

Detox is a very painful process. It involves not only medication and chemical flushing of the drugs, but also psychological 'flushing' of the thought of the addiction from the addict's conscience. This is the most difficult part of the job, because an addict never wants to admit that they have a problem in the first place! So detox is not only about medical treatment, but also equally about counseling and building the patient's motivation for a better, healthier, addiction - free life. Perhaps this counseling is the most difficult and sensitive part of any kind of de-addiction treatment.

Florida and such heavily urbanized location have more problems with addiction and substance abuse issues because of the easy availability of vices in modern cities. People have money to spend in urban hubs, and the drug peddlers know that once the drug is in their systems, people just can't walk back as easy as it was it start! This is because of a unique way that addictive substances retain in our systems. Let's study that a little more clearly -

A substance that is addictive gets absorbed into our system and releases chemical stimulants in our system that are naturally present. They can even duplicate these chemicals at a molecular level, fooling our bodies to feeling happy and euphoric or 'the high'. Other chemicals relax the nerves and muscles and make us feel relieved and devoid of pain and emotions. These act like pain killers, except the fact that once the effect wears off, the pain is back in twice its intensity and hence the repeated abuse.

In places like Florida, detox centers and narcotics control authorities are in a constant battle to keep these dangerous addictive elements from being a social destruction. However, we are merely beginning to understand the true viciousness of their existence.
