103 49
Today "green" is all the rage.
Maybe you've started eating less meat and more locally grown produce.
Maybe you've begun bringing your own canvas bags to the grocery store instead of using new plastic ones every time.
Maybe you've even started your very own compost heap in the backyard! Well, whether you're a veteran recycler who a total newbie, here are some tips to help you go totally green in the bathroom.
1.
Replace Your Showerhead Ditch your old shower head in favor of a newer, more efficient model.
Nowadays there are many options for shower heads that are "low-flow" and can reduce water consumption in the shower by up to 75%! Nice.
2.
Buy Eco-Friendly Supplies Ditch the chemical cleaners in favor of eco-friendly alternatives.
"Green" cleaning products are easier on skin, household surfaces, and the environment.
Get a clean bathroom and a clean conscience! 3.
Take Showers, not Baths Showers use much less water than baths do, so try to forgo the soak more often and take a shower instead.
The end result is the same, I promise! 4.
Turn off the Water It seems easy, but you might be surprised how often you leave the water running in the bathroom without even noticing.
Turning off the tap while you are brushing your teeth or scrubbing your face can make a big difference in terms of your water use.
5.
Buy Eco-Friendly Shower Curtains Most shower curtains are made with PVC, which is a vinyl product that contains chemicals you probably don't want near your body, especially when naked! Swap out that old shower curtain for a new, eco-friendly one made from TPU instead.
