How to Stay Motivated to Reach Your Weight Loss Goals Without Support

103 45
It can sometimes feel like an uphill battle to lose weight, but what do you do when you lack the support to reach your weight loss goals? In this article I wanted to share with you how to stay motivated to reach your weight loss goals without support and share with you some of my own experiences and what I did to overcome my personal challenges.
Losing weight is a very personal, very powerful process.
It takes a person from where they don't want to be in their life to where they do want to be.
There is a problem though and that can sometimes be the lack of support you may or may not receive from those people that are closest to you in your life.
Family, friends, partners, they are used to you being the person that you are right now.
It is no surprise that it will be difficult for them to "truly" support your efforts.
I am not saying that they don't want you to succeed.
I am saying that they don't know how to help you to succeed.
There is a difference there.
In my own situation I have been tempted with chocolate and pizza, and cheeses, all of the things that I love have made their way into my home to tempt me to move away from my goals.
I don't blame the people that bring the food because they don't "get it".
It is difficult to understand how challenging it is to have these types of foods in the home when you are trying to lose weight.
Of course depending on what you have decided to give up these items may vary.
What I have learned during my own personal weight loss journey is you are not always going to have the support of those you care about.
They most likely won't stop eating the foods that they are eating and they won't necessarily stop bringing in the foods you love so that you are not tempted by them.
So, what do you do? You make sure that you have plenty of the foods that you can eat and that you do enjoy readily available to you.
You make sure that you are keeping an active record of your thoughts in your journal and you make sure that no matter what you stay behind yourself.
What does that mean exactly? It means you become the support network.
You become the person that you can lean on.
Find the inner strength and it will comfort you when you are tested.
Aside from that you be patient with yourself and trust in your ability to reach your goals.
